Adopt me at Conway AWU

ADOPTION PROCEDURES
CONWAY ANIMAL WELFARE UNIT

Applicants who rent will need verification by their landlord that the animal may be kept on the premises before an animal can be placed in their home.

The adoption fee for most animals is $50.00.  Dogs will be heart-worm tested, DHLPP and Bordetella. Cats will be tested and vaccinated for Feline Leukemia and FVRCPC. This fee also includes spay/neuter, rabies and microchip.Arkansas Law states that all animals adopted from an Animal Shelter must be Spayed or Neutered.

In the event an animal turns out to be unsuitable for the home in which it has been placed, the new owners should return the animal to Conway Animal Welfare Unit with a written explanation of the problem. There will be no refund of fees.

All strays coming into the shelter are held for five days to see if the original owner reclaims it, before it is available to be adopted.

Energy 5.0 my name is Molly and I am a 2 yr old spayed female Lab mix and I weigh 54 lbs. I was surrendered by my owner for unknown reasons. I'm a very active girl and will need lots of room to play but I do enjoy being inside with my hooman family. I'm housebroken, a good girl when I eat and I love other dogs. If you like excitement and don't mind a little energy then I'm your gal! I'm available now! Adopting a dog from the Conway Animal Welfare Unit is a fairly easy process. The first step to adopting an animal is submitting an application. The application allows us to individually consider applicants and helps us to properly match our pets with new owners. We want to make sure that our pets are going to homes that are ready to provide for these pets long-term. Adoptions are $50 and this includes vaccinations, heartworm test, spay/neuter and microchip. As with any shelter animal, health is not guaranteed but we do our best to screen out those animals that are showing obvious signs of illness or disclose that information prior to adoption. All dogs are heartworm tested upon adoption. If you are interested in adopting a dog and you reside OUTSIDE the city limits of Conway and the dog is less than 12 wks old, the cost is $75 which includes a spay/neuter and micropchip. The spay and neuter can only be performed at Vilonia Vet Clinic or Companion Animal Spay/Neuter Clinic. If the animal is less that 12 wks and you live inside the city limits the adoption fee is $25 dollars and you receive a voucher for $120 to use at select clinics for spay/neuter. The other option is that you provide us with proof of a pre-paid spay or neuter at YOUR vet of choice.

Stop scrolling look at Me. My name is Jimmy and I am a neutered male Terrier mix about 3 yrs old and I weigh 28 lbs. You know how some dogs just prefer to stay close.....take me for example….I’m perfectly content to sit at your feet, face greet, wag my tail when you talk to me and curve my body when you pet me. Toys don’t interest me much but I do love food. Touch my face and I will eat gently around your hand and promise not to gobble or growl. I love the company of other dogs especially if they don't mind me licking them in the face! Looks like my owners aren't coming....I'm available now! Oh Sheila........that's what they call me....I am a 3 yr old spayed female Lab/Weimaraner mix and I weigh 45 lbs. I think they are just calling me that cause I don't have a tail...which maybe it's a good thing I don't cause it would wag ALL THE TIME. I'm a sweet soul.....a little shy and very submissive. I love to cuddle and get as close as I can. I'm a good girl on a leash and prefer to potty outside. I have been here a few days now and my owner hasn't come.....if you have time...stop in and see me soon...just remember I'm a little shy so give me time to warm up....I will be available 10/4/19 if not reclaimed by my owner.
